We’re thrilled to share a new album with you, our listeners. It’s by Joris Tillmans, a local composer, producer, and sound designer we’ve been following for quite some time.
Here’s how he describes his work:
“My work ranges from cutting-edge sound design for international brands to avant-garde music with a copy-paste aesthetic that’s raw and inspiring.
I like to craft innovative sounds from unexpected sources, always aiming for high-end production quality.”
His latest release, Distractions, really resonates with me. It blends abstract beats, faint melodies, and fragments of urban chatter into something that somehow induces a calm, focused flow.
It’s a big contrast to Max’s more melodic tracks on his albums Wow! and 2 Hours, which also help me concentrate — so I’m not sure what exactly makes Distractions work for me. I guess that’s the beauty of ambient music: you never quite know what will click.
We hope you enjoy this release as much as we do. And as always, we’d love to hear your thoughts.
